Effects of Communicative Approach

The communicative approach is the most effective way of teaching a foreign language.

 It is an approach based on a number of principles of learning rather than a method. I prefer a communicative way because it focuses on four integrated skills and also this approach is a student-centered manner instead of a teacher-centered manner. 

 Actually, the teacher becomes a facilitator and only helps students to learn the language. Therefore, in order to enable students to use the language communicatively, it gives a possibility for pairwork and group work activities extensively. In fact, the usage of language in the classroom is our target. Because communication improves by speaking and listening, without noticing students learn many beneficial things using this way. 

So, we should take more time for communicative competence not just structural competence. Students must have the opportunity to use the language for genuine and purposeful communication. Finally, I must say that we should use more task-based activities, role-plays, dialogues, discussion on a case effectively. 

You will be aware of the communicative teaching approach will be understood better than the other ones by students with time.
